Are You Too Serious?

How Divine Alignment Reminds Us Life Is Meant to Be Fun

Remember when you were a kid and dressing yourself felt like the greatest adventure ever?

Maybe you'd proudly strut into the room wearing a tiara, your favorite swimsuit, and those awesome snow boots, completely unconcerned with fashion rules or social expectations. You weren't looking for approval or applause. You weren't worried about getting it "right." You simply knew the pure joy of being yourself.

That inner child—bold, unapologetic, joyfully authentic—is still within you, eagerly waiting to play again.

Why We Forget How to Have Fun

Life, in its truest essence, is meant to be enjoyed. Yet somewhere along the path of "adulting," we've collectively forgotten the art of fun. We've replaced curiosity with caution, laughter with worry, and creativity with conformity. Instead of embracing our uniqueness, we've started asking, "What will they think?" instead of the infinitely better questions: "What feels like ME?" or “What do I want?”

But what if life isn't supposed to be this serious? What if "adulting" doesn't have to equal boredom? After all, didn't Jesus remind us to "become like little children" because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven?

The Cost of Taking Life Too Seriously

Being overly serious affects more than just our mood. It seeps into our family life, turning moments meant for connection into tense, stressful interactions.

When we take life too seriously, it affects:

  • Family connections

  • Friendships

  • Creativity at work

  • Our mental, emotional, and spiritual health

Friendships can feel strained or distant, burdened by expectations and obligations rather than buoyed by laughter and spontaneity. At work, excessive seriousness stifles creativity and innovation, turning passion-driven projects into mundane tasks. Even our mental, emotional, and spiritual health suffers, manifesting as anxiety, burnout, or a persistent feeling of dissatisfaction.

Choosing Joy: My Personal Shift

I've experienced a lot of the above. For years, I stayed in positions and relationships that weren't aligned with my true values, costing me dearly in mental and emotional well-being. Stress and frustration became my daily companions.

Eventually, I promised myself that I would only say "yes" to projects, roles, or relationships that genuinely added to my peace, happiness, or joy. If something started out aligned but later shifted into prolonged stress, I honored myself enough to walk away. This wasn't easy at first, but it became clear and natural once I recognized that my peace, joy, and freedom mattered more than external validation or temporary comforts.

Divine Alignment: Where the Fun Begins

Divine Alignment invites us back into that joyful authenticity. It reminds us that the purpose of life and relationships—our very existence—is happiness. You were not created to merely survive; you were created to thrive, to delight in the wonders of life, and to extend that delight to others.

In our quest for external validation or success, we've mistakenly believed happiness comes from things outside ourselves. We've formed relationships, careers, and identities hoping they'll fill the void of joy. But real happiness—the kind you effortlessly wore as a child—isn't something you find out there; it's something you align with in your heart and soul.

Alignment is simply remembering your truth, your inherent wholeness, and your unity with the Divine. When you're aligned, joy becomes your natural state of being. You don't have to perform for it. You don't have to earn it. You don't even need permission for it. You simply wear joy like it's your favorite outfit because, deep down, it is.

It's time we stopped taking seriousness so seriously—and started inviting joy back in. Let’s transform our perceptions, shed the illusions of fear, guilt, shame, and judgment, and restore life to its divine purpose: happiness.

So go ahead—wear that crown, rock those boots, dance through your days with playful abandon. Because life gets lighter, work gets brighter, and everything feels more like play when you're aligned.

Your inner child already knows the secret: Divine Alignment isn't about being "right." It's about being real and true to yourself.

Alignment is where the FUN begins. 💃👑🥾
