Are You Still Playing Small?
Going from Littleness to Magnitude - My 20-year Journey
I was in my early 30s the first time I stood in a church classroom, flip chart in hand, telling a circle of women how small, consistent choices—five minutes of prayer, a kind thought toward ourselves, a little more exercise—could change everything. I was leading a women’s ministry, but really, it was the beginning of a love affair with Christ and a front-row seat to transformation.
Back then, I didn’t have the words I use now, but I was already battling what I’ve come to call littleness—that quiet but persistent voice that says we’re not enough, we should stay small, and we must sacrifice our needs to keep others comfortable. I didn’t realize it at the time, but by following my calling to teach and guide, I had already begun the shift from littleness to magnitude.
Filming Magnitude in Action
In my 40s, I founded Womanars® and launched a video series called Real Women, Real Stories, Real Inspiration. We filmed over 100 interviews with women entrepreneurs and founders who pulled back the curtain on what it really took to chase their dreams and rise from setbacks. I ensured every story shared three core elements:
Inspiration – stories of faith taking action in the face of fear
Education – wisdom from the trenches, their biggest lessons
Connection – that healing “me too” moment that dissolves isolation for anyone listening
Behind the lights and cameras, one pattern stood out: nearly every woman attributed her courage and success to her connection with something greater than herself. That relationship—with God, Source, Spirit, the Sacred—was what helped them leave the familiar for the unknown, redefine success, silence doubt, and take the next right step. One foot in front of the other, their stories moved from littleness to limitless.
The Most Important Truth
Over 20 years of walking beside women and walking my own path, I’ve discovered what I believe to be the most important truth: we thrive when we drop the masks—people‑pleasing, comparison, shame, anger, fear, competition, perfectionism—and become radically honest with ourselves and God.
That’s when we remember who we really are.
That’s when littleness dissolves.
That’s when we stop surviving and start SHINING.
We exchange fear for faith, ego for Spirit. And in that space, authenticity, vulnerability, love, joy, peace, and freedom rise to take their rightful place.
Littleness vs. Magnitude (and Why It Matters)
Here’s the short version:
Littleness is any belief that keeps you small—ashamed, guilty, separate, unworthy
Magnitude is your True Identity—love, joy, creative power, wholeness. It’s home.
We choose between the two in every moment. Littleness feels safe, but it drains us. Magnitude feels risky—but it sets us free.
When I find myself shrinking, I ask: Would I rather be hostage to littleness or host to greatness? And with that question, everything shifts.
Turning 56 and Coming Full Circle
Now in my 50s, I’ve returned to my sweet spot: guiding women to heal trauma, sexual abuse, heartbreak, and old pain through Spirituality, Positive Psychology, and Hypnotherapy. While I still enjoy consulting with startups, my greatest joy comes from creating spaces—talks, circles, classes, retreats—where women can exhale and remember: “I Am Limitless.”
After meeting with hundreds of women over the years, I can say with certainty: a genuine relationship with the Sacred supercharges our well-being. It gives us forgiveness for the past, creativity for the future, and peace for the present. Without it, we shrink. With it, we soar.
